Episode 14: Candy for the Ages
Happy Halloween! We thought candy was a fitting topic for this week's episode.
Here are some questions that didn't make it into the final script (answers at the end).
-
The “pick a side” ad campaign began in 2012 and convinced some people that the right and left sides of this candy bar were different. What is the name of this candy?
-
This chocolate candy was re-released in the year 2000 with candy pieces replacing the plastic toys from the original version, due to choking hazards. Name either the first or second version of the candy.
- Popular in the 90s, the commercials featured the heads of children turning into giant pieces of fruit after consuming this candy. The slogan was, “The bursting flavor may go to your head.” What was this candy?
The answers:
- Twix
- It was known as the Nestle Magic Ball in 1997. It became the Wonder Ball after being re-released.
- Fruit Gushers. Note: This question was rejected by our "test audience" because gushers were marketed as "fruit snacks," even though the ingredients were the same as those of candy. We all had fun bickering about this for a while; evidently there are a number of people on the internet still debating the issue!
Thanks for playing and we hope you'll come back for more Trivia for the Ages!

Episode 13: Sports Legends for the Ages
